Frequently asked questions

Answers about brand, materials, sizing and care.

Brand

Is each piece really handmade?

Yes, we create jewelry by hand, from melting the metal to final polishing. Visualizations are created on a piece of paper, and sometimes an idea is born during creation! When creating each piece of jewelry, we devote the same amount of attention to it. Small variations in finish are part of that process, not a flaw. We use natural stones, which always slightly vary, making each piece unique. Froart collections feature timeless forms, both minimalist and more distinctive designs inspired by vintage jewelry. We strive to make every piece to the highest standard of quality.

Where is Froart jewelry made?

We create our jewelry in workshop on the back of our shop at 10 Gołębia street in Cracow. We pass on experience from generation to generation, perfect our original classic collections and create new, unique forms.

Do you use sustainable practices?

We prioritize responsible sourcing and eco-friendly packaging.

Can I customize a piece?

The only customization we offer is resizing, for rings and chains. Availability is marked on each product page. See the Sizing section below for exact details by product type. If the product you're interested in is unavailable, please email us. We'll try to help.

Do you make pieces to order?

There is no direct option to place a special order on our website. Custom orders are subject to the jeweler's availability and turnaround time. It depends on the number of services and orders placed in-store. If you're interested in custom-made jewelry, contact us by email or visit our store at Gołębia 10 in Kraków.

Materials

What materials do you use?

Our jewelry is mostly made of 585 gold (14K) and 925 silver. If a different metal alloy is used, this information is visible in the product specification.

585 gold alloy contains 58.5% pure gold and 41.5% of a metal mix that increases the durability of the jewelry.

925 silver alloy contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of a metal mix that increases the durability of the jewelry.

Do you use nickel in your jewelry?

No, we don't use nickel in our gold or silver alloys. Our jewelry meets applicable safety standards for jewelry products.

What stones do you use in your jewelry?

We use natural stones. Vintage-style jewelry may use synthetic stones, but this is always marked in the product specification. We do not use laboratory-grown diamonds.

Can natural stones differ from those in the photos?

Yes. Natural stones vary in colour, pattern and inclusions — that is part of their character. Product photos show the actual piece you receive, but the exact appearance of a stone may differ slightly from piece to piece.

Do all photos show the actual product?

Yes. All photos are taken by us and show the actual product. The color of the jewelry may vary slightly depending on lighting or screen settings.

Do diamond pieces have certificates?

Yes, we attach a certificate from a jewelry appraiser to each piece of diamond jewelry.

Sizing

How do I find my ring size?

Use our ring size guide, or visit us in person if you're nearby. For the most accurate result, measure at the end of the day, when your fingers are at their largest.

What if my ring doesn't fit when it arrives?

If it's too small or too large, we can resize it. Contact us by email.

Do you offer half sizes?

No. If your measurement falls between two standard sizes, we generally recommend the larger one for comfort.

  • Size up for: wide bands (above 4mm), warm weather or evenings (fingers naturally swell when warm), or prominent knuckles.
  • Size down for: thin, delicate bands (under 2mm), or if you measured your finger while cold.

A good fit means the ring slides over your knuckle with a little friction, then sits comfortably at the base of your finger. When in doubt, it's easier for a jeweler to size a ring down than to stretch it larger.

I don't know my partner's ring size. What should I do?

Borrow a ring they already wear on the relevant finger and measure the inside diameter. If that's not possible, a close friend or family member of theirs may know their size.

Care

How do I care for my jewelry?

Avoid contact with chemicals and cosmetics. Always remove jewelry before swimming or sleeping, protect jewelry from pressure, and store pieces separately to prevent scratching. To clean your jewelry, you can use a damp microfiber cloth. Gently rinse and dry. You will find a full care guide on each product page.

Will my jewelry tarnish?

Yes, jewelry may tarnish. Silver tarnishes over time due to oxidation. This is natural for 925 silver and doesn't indicate a defect. Gold itself doesn't oxidize but may darken slightly over time, because metals such silver and copper in the gold alloy react with cosmetics, chemicals, or sweat. Follow our use and care instructions to reduce the risk of tarnishing, and see our safe cleaning methods. We can also clean your piece for you at our shop.

Rings

Are your rings suitable for everyday wear?

Yes. Gold and sterling silver bands are ideal for daily wear. We design with everyday wear in mind, and take care to make our rings durable enough to last for years. How you wear and store your rings affects their durability, so follow the use and care instructions to avoid discoloration or deformation.

Do you make engagement or wedding rings?

You'll find available engagement rings in their own category. We do produce wedding rings, but they're not currently available in the online shop. You can view our designs in person at 10 Gołębia street in Cracow.

Do diamond rings have certificates?

Yes, each piece of diamond jewelry comes with a certificate from a jewelry appraiser.

Earrings

Are your earrings suitable for sensitive ears?

Yes, for the vast majority of people. Our earrings are made exclusively from high-quality 585 gold and nickel-free 925 silver, which minimizes the risk of allergic reaction to almost zero. That said, allergic reactions are highly individual. In rare cases, the body can react even to pure precious metals or to the copper naturally present in 925 silver. If you have a particularly severe allergy, we recommend consulting a dermatologist or wearing the earrings for a short trial period first.

Do you sell single earrings, or only pairs?

We sell only pairs.

What's the difference between stud, hoop, drop, and dangle earrings in your collection?
  • Studs sit flat on the earlobe, without dangling or moving.
  • Hoops are circle-shaped and pass through the earlobe. They range from small and fitted to large and bold.
  • Drops hang just below the earlobe and are usually stationary or move very gently.
  • Dangles hang well below the earlobe and swing freely from side to side.
Can clip-on or screw-back options be requested for non-pierced ears?

We don't offer custom clips or screw-backs.

Bracelets

How do I find the right bracelet size?

It depends on the bracelet type.

  • Chain bracelets: measure your wrist circumference with a flexible tape measure or a piece of string, marking where it overlaps. Lay the string flat against a ruler to get the exact measurement, then add 1–1.5 cm for a comfortable fit.
  • Bangle bracelets: sized by hand circumference, since a bangle needs to slide over your knuckles. Measure the widest part of your hand with your fingers tucked together, to make sure the bangle will fit through.
Can a bracelet be shortened or lengthened after purchase?

Resizing is available for chain bracelets without stones. We don't adjust size for bangle bracelets.

Necklaces

Does the pendant come with a chain?

No, pendants are sold without a chain. You'll find chains in our Necklaces collection.

What's the difference between a chain and a necklace?

A chain is a simple piece of jewelry made only of interlinked links, without any ornament or stone. We offer chains in various thicknesses and weaves — thin, subtle chains pair well with pendants, while thicker chains are decorative on their own and also suit larger pendants.

A necklace is a complete piece that combines a chain with an integrated central ornament, such as a stone-set pattern or other decorative element. Unlike a chain, a necklace doesn't need anything added to be worn.

Can a chain be shortened or lengthened after purchase?

Yes. If the chain length is too short or too long we can resize it. Contact us by email.

Can a necklace's length be adjusted?

No, adjusting the length of a necklace isn't available.

Brooches

How do I wear a brooch today?

A brooch doesn't have to stay on a lapel. Wear it on a blazer, coat, scarf, knitwear or even a handbag to add a personal touch to an everyday look. There are no strict rules, the best place is wherever it feels right to you.

Orders & returns

How do I cancel an order or withdraw from my purchase?

Changed your mind? You can withdraw from your online purchase within 14 days of receiving it without giving a reason.

Use the withdrawal form on our website — no account required. We confirm receipt by email with the date and content of your statement. You can also submit a return from order history in your customer panel, or email request@froart.pl with your order number within 14 days of receiving your shipment. This is statutory withdrawal (14 days) — not the same as reading our delivery and returns policy.

Submit withdrawal

Who has the 14-day right of withdrawal?

Consumers and sole traders buying outside their profession, under the Polish Consumer Rights Act. The 14 days run from the day you receive the order. Catalogue jewellery keeps that right, including pieces manufactured after you order. Jewellery made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised (for example individual engraving, a stone or metal change, or a bespoke design) is excluded. Full rules are on the Delivery & returns page.
